Federico Stefan · UX/UI Designer based in Berlin

I turn complex products, like AI platforms and city services, into interfaces that feel simple from the first click.

UX/UI Designer · Berlin · Available now

My Projects

Three case studies: a public service redesign backed by a survey of 11 people and tested for accessibility, an AI SaaS product I designed and shipped as the only designer, and my thesis platform for finding collaborators.

About me

UX/UI designer in Berlin. At Turm & Leufer, I was the only designer on Nordstern, an AI content platform, from the first version to the redesign. I work across the whole process, from research to a working prototype, and use AI to get there faster.

About

I design interfaces for complex products, with AI built into my workflow, from research to a working prototype.

About me

I start every project by understanding the problem, and finish with a design that’s ready to build. I work across the whole process, from research and wireframes to product UI and Webflow implementation. I use AI to work faster at every stage: to research and summarise information, to build working prototypes and to test ideas early. I review everything it gives me before it goes into a design.

My Process

Every project I take on follows the same process, from understanding the brief to validating the final design. Here’s how I work.

Accessibility statement

I want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or other assistive technology. This statement explains how accessible the site is, what I tested and what still needs work.

How accessible this site is

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Based on my own testing, it partially meets this standard. The known issues are listed below.

What I tested and how

  • Tested with: keyboard only, 200% zoom, 320px screen width, a colour contrast checker and the reduce-motion setting.
  • Pages tested: all pages on the site.

This was a self-assessment. It has not been checked by an external auditor.

Known issues

  • I haven’t tested the site with a screen reader yet. The pages use proper headings, labels and image descriptions, but if something doesn’t work with your screen reader, please tell me.

What works well

  • Every link, button, menu and form can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline in light and dark mode.
  • A “Skip to content” link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key.
  • Light and dark mode both have readable text contrast.
  • Pages work at 200% zoom and at 320px width without sideways scrolling.
  • With reduce motion turned on, the shapes stop moving and page transitions are instant.
  • Images have text descriptions. Before-and-after images describe both versions, and decorative shapes are hidden from screen readers.
  • The contact form has visible labels, and errors are announced and explain how to fix them.
  • German words such as Anmeldung and Bürgeramt are marked as German, so screen readers pronounce them correctly.
  • Screenshots are examples of my design work. Each one has a text description, and the case study text explains what it shows.
  • The CV PDF is tagged for screen readers, with its title and language set. The in-page CV viewer links to the PDF file.
  • The Accessibility button in the header lets you turn on larger text, higher contrast, underlined links, reduced motion, hidden decorative shapes and wider text spacing. Your choices are saved for your next visit.

Feedback and contact

If something on this site doesn’t work for you, please let me know and I’ll fix it or send you the content in another format.
